Ink drawing St Lambertuskerk

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

This church is locally known in Heemse as the white church ( Witte kerkje )
Spend about ten and a half hours on this work in progress drawing.
The still white area in the foreground is going to be grass.
The trees have to be worked some more,
The church is almost ready with the exception of the clocks on the tower.
Used the 0.2mm pen for the main lines.
Mainly used my 0.1 and .05 pens to add details.

All comments are welcome:)

Larger drawing of a church in ink(2)

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Added more details, made some corrections and added more body to the trees.
Spend a total of 17 hours now on this drawing.

I like it and I think it is about ready to sign it.
But just after I completed the scan I saw something I had missed.
The windows under the dark tree in the back needed a bit of shading..

Will hang this drawing on the wall for a few days and see if I have missed more.

After that I’ll sign it and add it to my webpage.

Comments are allways welcome:)

Larger drawing of a church in ink

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Made a new and larger version of the previous drawing of this church.
The church is the Kandelaarkerk in Heemse (NL)
This drawing is about the standard A3 size
Not only larger but most work was done with smaller pens.
Previous drawing was done with a pen of 0.3 mm
This one has some 0.3 lines, but most of the work was done with 0.2, 0.1 and a lot of 0.05 mm lines
Quite a lot more work though: 14 hours when this scan was made yesterday.
It is still a work in progress, so I did another hour work on it today. Fixed some mistakes and added more details to the foilage.
I’m very satisfied with the progress on this drawing.
Will continue to work on it and report when it is ready:)

Comments, as allways, are welcome!

Here is the updated drawing, mostly corrected some small stuff.
Also added more “body” to the trees.
Think this version is the max for this size.
I’m planning to make a bigger ink drawing of this subject:)

Comments are welcome:)

Yesterday I posted a new drawing, well it’s lost in the server move.
Here we go again:)

An Ink Drawing Kandelaarkerk
First session on this ink drawing is ready.
Now is the time to look at it, to find the things I want to improve.
I expect I need one more session to complete this church.
The size of the drawing is about A4.

Website moved to a different server.

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

My provider moved my site to a new server.
It seems to be faster, but apperently I lost a blog I wrote yesterday during the move.:(
And some work on my tags and categories are lost.
Well that’s life I guess..;)

Crucified hand

Friday, September 11th, 2009

This picture is made for a friend.
He asked me to make this one for him, because he liked a similar (but different) one I made for his mother.

It is halfway finished now. The drawing in itself is quite ready.
Main thing still left to do is personalize it.

I will personalize it for him with his name inscribed in the hand
A bible verse will be incoorperated in the drawing too.
Isaiah 49:16A
See, your name is marked on my hands.

Because of privacy reasons I will not post the complete drawing when it is ready.

It is a bit of a religious image,
some may find it disturbing because of it’s inherent violence.
But to me it’s a very powerfull image.
