Cat and cow(both WiP)

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Did some work on 2 oil paintings.

First is my cat Spock, which I started this summer. Did some work on the fur.
The tone values on the body itself are quite ready, the head however does need more work.

For the Cow between trees I did some block in work on the skin.
Need to refine it’s head a bit more, doesn’t feel right to me.

Two pastel studies

Friday, January 15th, 2010

Bought me another box of soft-pastels.:P
A portrait box of 30 pastels, did some pastel studies with them.
For one I used the pencil sketch of the crucified man.
The paper it was on turned out to be not the best carrier for pastel.
So I didn’t add a background on it.

The other one is of a nude woman in a room.
I like the result but am going to look at it for a while before making a painting out of it:)

Comments are always welcome! post one:)
