Did this preliminairy sketch on paper with acrylics.
The size is approximatly 25cm x25 cm(10 inchx10 inch)
The sketch has it’s rough edges but I like the concept.
I’m considering to make a full size painting of this on a masonite panel.

Drawing of a church in ink (2)

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

Here is the updated drawing, mostly corrected some small stuff.
Also added more “body” to the trees.
Think this version is the max for this size.
I’m planning to make a bigger ink drawing of this subject:)

Comments are welcome:)

Yesterday I posted a new drawing, well it’s lost in the server move.
Here we go again:)

An Ink Drawing Kandelaarkerk
First session on this ink drawing is ready.
Now is the time to look at it, to find the things I want to improve.
I expect I need one more session to complete this church.
The size of the drawing is about A4.
The church is the Kandelaarkerk in Heemse(NL)

Comments are welcome:)

I’m quite happy with this sketch as it turned out:)

A basic studio sketch based on a 2 minutes field sketch.
The original sketch “resting” was made on the Medieval Ommen Festival.
The original sketch can be found there too..
A young female enactor that rested for a while.
First drew it with a pencil, then added ink and did some basic shadowwork.
Didn’t do the textures of the straw bales.
I’m quite happy with this basic design, think I will be expanding on this sketchinktrustendhooi

Sketches made on medieval festival

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

All these sketches were made yesterday on “Middeleeuws Ommen”,
Ommen being a place in The Netherlands.
A Dutch Blog with details about this festival can be read here

Most sketches were made in about 2 minutes, only one sketch was posed(female dancer).
The rest is free sketched without the subject posing.

Of course several sketches couldn’t be finished because people moved.

Enjoyed the festival very much, especially the Viking section was very well done. Also the medieval actors which mixed in between the public made the atmosphere complete.
